What is Foundations?
Foundations is your prerequisite to mastering the essential movements and methodologies of CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting. This comprehensive program is designed to build a solid base for beginners and refine skills for those with some experience. Through personalized instruction, you’ll learn proper technique, safety principles, and the fundamentals of CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting workouts.
New to Foundations?
Our Foundations program welcomes athletes of all fitness levels. Whether you’re a complete novice or looking to improve your form, our expert coaches will guide you through every step. The individual program consists of 6 classes for CrossFit and 12 classes of Olympic Weightlifting, ensuring you receive individualized attention and feedback. Each session introduces 3-5 new movements, followed by a scalable workout to practice your skills.

Why do I need Foundations?
Safety: CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting involves a variety of complex movements and exercises that can be physically demanding. Foundations classes teach you proper form and technique to reduce the risk of injury.
Skill Development: Many CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting exercises are unique and require specific skills (like Olympic weightlifting or gymnastics movements). Foundations classes break down these movements step-by-step, allowing you to learn and master them gradually.
Foundation for Progression: Building a strong foundation in CrossFit or Olympic Weightlifting basics sets you up for success as you progress to more advanced workouts and heavier weights. It ensures that you have the necessary strength, mobility, and technique to handle more intense training.
Understanding Principles: CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting has its own philosophy and approach to fitness, which includes principles like functional movements, intensity, and variance. Foundations classes often include education on these principles so you can apply them effectively.
I’ve done Foundations somewhere else, do I still need to do it again?
If you’ve completed a Foundations or On-Ramp program at another registered Crossfit affiliate, you can come in for a complimentary fitness assessment, after the evaluation, we’ll determine if you’re ready to join in our classes right away or if you’ll need to complete any prerequisites. Feel free to book your complimentary no sweat intro!
How many classes is it?
Our Foundations program consists of 6-12 classes. There is no set time in which you must complete the program, but most individuals will complete either one or two sessions per week. This also depends on your availability, as well as the availability of our coaches, and may be completed in a shorter or longer time frame depending on how often you prefer to have your sessions
What if I need to cancel a session?
If you need to miss a session, please notify us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you with a makeup session. However, please be aware that missed appointments, or cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may include a $90 make-up fee.
Can I join the Foundations program if I have no prior fitness experience?
Absolutely! The Foundations program is designed for athletes of all fitness levels, from beginners to those with more experience. Our coaches will work with you at your own pace to ensure you understand key movements and feel confident.
If I’ve completed Weightlifting Foundations, can I join CrossFit classes?
No, you need to complete CrossFit Foundations before attending CrossFit classes.
Can I attend Weightlifting classes after completing CrossFit Foundations?
Yes, you can attend Olympic Weightlifting classes, but you must first complete 12 Olympic WeightLifting Foundations classes while on a membership.
